“[Our son] has learned to love the out-of-doors and is anxious to learn more. I'm hoping that this, combined with the reinforcement of Christian values, will give him a shield to rely on as he enters middle school.” Prospect, KY

“Rockmont has been wonderful for Michael. He has yet to go with any friends, but always returns with many new ones. The counselors seem to be just about the best around.” Charlotte, NC

Special Programs

Counselors-In-Training

The "C.I.T." program is designed to prepare young men to be future Rockmont counselors. This program gives the C.I.T. a deeper understanding of the duties and responsibilities of a counselor and better equips him to confidently execute these responsibilities. It is a course in leadership training with lessons that will be of value in every walk of life.

General responsibilities include: 1) act as an assistant to a counselor, providing support in various areas of cabin life; 2) act as an assistant instructor in a skill class; 3) do various assigned work tasks in the dining hall necessary to achieving the camp's goal of a quality program; 4) attend leadership training sessions in order to acquire specific skills and leadership techniques. In addition to the above responsibilities, C.I.T.s have many special activities planned just for them. A unique camaraderie is formed between C.I.T.s which often results in life-long friendships.

Rockmont reserves the right to accept or deny applications for the C.I.T. positions according to the applicant's qualifications.
