Optional Adventure Trips
One Day Lake James Trip – $125

The one-day trip to Lake James has long been
our most popular optional trip. The short drive
to beautiful Lake James starts early and the
campers enjoy a full day on the lake before
settling down to a big steak dinner. All levels
of skiers, kneeboarders, and wakeboarders are
welcome. Our fleet of Correct Crafts includes
a Ski Nautique, a Sport Nautique and an Air
Nautique.
Horseback Trail Ride – $100

Rockmont’s riding program gives campers the opportunity to form a trusting partnership with a horse. The trail ride experience begins with campers preparing the meal for their adventure. Next, they head out to the barn and riding ring where they receive hands on instruction in basic riding skills and practice navigating the obstacle course. During the trail ride, campers will enjoy the beautiful terrain of camp as they ford creeks and negotiate hills to arrive at the trail shelter. Here the trail chef, “Cookie”, will have a meal ready to eat, just off the chuck wagon. Campers will eat and play games before riding back to the barn. After saying goodbye to their horse, campers head back to main camp, perhaps walking a bit more like a cowboy from their time in the saddle!
Whitewater Raft Trip – $125 (8 yrs and up)

Discover the excitement of whitewater, the
grandeur of forested mountain bluffs, the
tranquility of isolated pools, and the constantly
varying currents of a mountain stream. This
one-day trip offers a thrilling ride down some of
Appalachia’s most scenic and exciting rivers.
Participants will talk about this one for a long
time to come!
