Today is Sacred

Today Is Sacred.

At Rockmont, we’re learning that everyday, God is inviting us into an incredible adventure. It takes place right here, in every moment, in every interaction, in every conversation, and I’m beginning to learn that this is the grandest adventure of them all. The day to day is what it’s all about, and the ins and outs of what today offers can be a game changer if we’ll let it. Each day is sacred and will never happen again! I think that God is inviting us into this rich and exciting life if we are willing to settle in, slow it down, and have the right outlook.

It’s Saturday here at Rockmont and it is truly a beautiful new day.

The Bear campers returned from their campouts this morning after a night of sleeping in the woods and enjoying each other’s company around a campfire. For breakfast, the Deer and Mountain campers got to enjoy Sugar Cereal Saturday, which is the only meal each session where we offer cereals such as Fruit Loops, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Cocoa Puffs.

Saturday is a full activity day for the campers, meaning no skills today. Some Mountain campers headed out on a rafting trip this morning, while the rest played an epic game of Campwide Risk. This afternoon, all of Deer Camp is participating in Outbreak, a camper favorite shirt-tail-tag game. Meanwhile, the Birch tribe is playing Risk on the Golf Course, and the Buckeye tribe is battling in a game of Power Ball.

Camp is buzzing because tonight is our social with Camp Hollymont and Camp Merri-Mac. These two girls camps will come to Rockmont for a night of dancing, crafts, and various other activities. This is an exciting night for us as we continue to enjoy our partnership with each of these wonderful camps.

Seeing these campers soak up each minute of today and diving into the sacredness of each moment is truly inspiring. I can’t wait for you to be able to hear about it directly from them!

Enjoy this special day, wherever you are!
