Rockmont Ranger Program

Mission Statement: The Rockmont Ranger Program strives to instill Christ-like character and leadership into young men. This is accomplished through wilderness expeditions designed to draw out and enhance the God-given qualities specific to each participant.

Is This For You?: The Rockmont Ranger Program is designed for young men who desire to take the next step in their camp experience or first-time campers who love outdoor adventure. Throughout history, the great men of our past have left civilization behind and taken to the wilderness. It is in the wilderness that they have found strength and leadership to fulfill their purpose in life. Participants in The Rockmont Ranger Program should anticipate a challenge and an adventure that will leave lifetime memories. The program is based around a wilderness expedition which takes place largely off camp property. The Rangers will explore some of the most beautiful natural scenery in the Eastern United States while backpacking, canoeing, rock climbing, and whitewater rafting. Not only will participants be challenged physically, but mentally and spiritually as well. Are you ready to take your journey?

Rockmont Ranger Directors
- Bryce and Spesh Ball:
Bryce and Spesh have spent two summers at Camp Rockmont working as members of the Adventure Team which provides leadership for camping and backpacking. This year they joined the full-time staff as the Directors of the Ranger Program. The couple met while working in Yosemite and have led wilderness trips for many different programs throughout the country as well as travelled overseas as missionaries. Spesh spent time in Africa ministering to squatter camps, school groups, and prisons inmates. Bryce has traveled to Ecuador, Nicaragua, and China sharing the Gospel with hard-to-reach people groups. This couple is very excited to use the wilderness as a backdrop for building character, leadership, and strengthening relationships in Rockmont campers.
