This Tuesday at camp was filled with Tribal Activities, Horseback Trail Rides, and Ski Trips. The Poplars started their day by hiking back to camp from their Cabin Camp Out while the rest of us began the day by playing games and participating in activities with our tribes. Bear Camp traveled across camp to the Golf Course for an exciting round of How to Train Your Dragon, one of our newest Shirt Tail Tag games. The Sycamores took a different approach to the day and headed up the mountain for an invigorating hike. Everyone gathered back together at the Waterfront for a refreshing Free Swim.
After Lunch, Deer Camp got right back into the lake for an intense Waterfront Olympics between the two competing tribes. Bear Camp participated in a different kind of Olympics on the Football Field…Hillbilly Olympics! This involved watermelon seed spitting, mattress pull, dizzy bat relays, and more. Mountain Camp campers could be found all over camp playing camp-wide Risk!
Just before dinner the Birch Tribe departed from camp and began hiking toward up the mountain for their Cabin Camp Outs. The Buckeyes had a relaxing evening as they spent their post-dinner time watching Zootopia in their lodge. The Hickory tribe had a fort-building competition among their cabins and the Hemlocks headed to the Gym for a Dodgeball Tournament. Mountain Camp expanded across all of camp, this time for a stealthy game of Behind Enemy Lines.
After a stormy afternoon, tonight’s cabin devotion was very appropriate. Today the passage was Mark 6:45-52, Jesus Walks on the Water. The campers discussed the good news in the fact that Jesus is in control and present in our times of need.
